PROF. ABDULLAH YAVAŞ

Abdullah Yavaş is Elliott Professor of Business Administration and the Research Director of the Institute for Real Estate Studies at The Pennsylvania State University. Professor Yavas has been a member of The Pennsylvania State University faculty since 1992. Prior to joining Penn State, Professor Yavas held a research position at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1991-1992. He taught at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor during the 1995 Fall Semester. Since joining Penn State, Professor Yavas has been involved in the undergraduate and graduate programs in Real Estate where he has taught Real Estate Fundamentals, Valuation of Real Property, Real Estate Finance and Investments, and Advanced Real Estate. Professor Yavas has been active in research and is the author or co-author of numerous articles in various real estate, finance and economics journals. He serves on the editorial boards of leading real estate journals, including Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Housing Economics and Journal of Real Estate Research. The results of his research have been cited in some of the nationally known papers, including BusinessWeek, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Money, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Boston Sunday Globe. He has consulted for mortgage companies and real estate investment trusts.
